Dead Woman Dragged From Car Crash Scene

March 13, 2015

INDIANA CAR ACCIDENTS

Tipton County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene of the accident at about 10:49 p.m. on Thursday, October 30. Deputies subsequently requested assistance from the Indiana State Patrol. Authorities reported that a 2004 Ford Explorer had been traveling to the east on County Road 400 South when came to a T-type intersection at County Road 500 West. The SUV allegedly failed to stop, and it continued through the intersection and into a driveway. From there, it careened off the driveway and into a fence post, a utility pole and a tree. The pole was severed at impact.

Rather than immediately call for emergency assistance following the crash, the man allegedly pulled the body of his 38-year-old female passenger from the vehicle and into the living room of a nearby home. From there, the man called 911. When responding officers arrived, he was reportedly drinking a beer. First responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene. A wrongful death suit has been filed against the man for his negligent driving.

It is unknown why the man dragged the woman inside but the police are investigating this unusual incident and awaiting a toxicology screen.
