Study Suggest Elder Abuse Associated with Increased Rates of Hospitalization

A recent study evaluated the hospitalization rate of elder abuse victims and elderly people who had not suffered abuse. Types of elder abuse include financial exploitation, physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, and neglect. Of elderly folks suffering two or more forms of abuse, their rate of hospitalizations was nearly 3 times that of seniors who did not suffer abuse.
